Head of School

Hailing from the USA, Dr. Daniel Jubert has been involved in international education for 20 years. Previous to his arrival in Cape Town in 2016, he was Head of School at Shanghai Community International School, Pudong Campus, in Shanghai, China, and has also worked at Escuela Internacional Sampedrana in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Dr. Jubert is also heavily involved with African international schools, as he serves on the board for the Association of International Schools in Africa.

Dr. Jubert is joined in Cape Town by his wife and three children, all who attend AISCT.

HEAD OF SCHOOL’S WELCOME

It is my distinct pleasure to welcome you to the American International School of Cape Town (AISCT), one of Africa’s leading international schools!

Each day, over 550 students and 100 staff members enter our campus, driven by a shared joy for teaching and learning and a commitment to excellence, cornerstones of our mission and vision at AISCT. The 2025-2026 academic year marks an exciting chapter for AISCT with the opening of our beautiful aquatic center, the completion of seven new classrooms to enhance student learning, and the launch of new courses across the school.

As our students progress through our well-aligned learning journey from Early Childhood Education to Elementary School, Middle School, and High School, culminating in the Advanced Placement program alongside our U.S. high school diploma, we remain deeply committed to preserving the one-school spirit that unites our community. With the steady leadership of our School Board and School Council, our dedicated faculty and staff, our committed Parents and Teachers Association(PATA), and our amazing students, we can achieve anything, together.

None of these achievements are possible without our incredible community. Our dedicated faculty, hailing from various corners of the world, are committed to delivering a high-quality education to our students. Our support staff, many of whom have been with the school for over a decade, work tirelessly behind the scenes to maintain our campus’s smooth functioning. Our students, representing over 60 nationalities, create a true international mosaic. Their remarkable achievements and university acceptances to some of the world’s top institutions are a testament to their exceptional abilities. The invaluable contributions of our parent community, particularly the Parents and Teachers Association (PATA), are evident throughout the year. Moreover, our community partners, including our accrediting body WASC, our AISA membership, our collaboration with the US Department of State, and our affiliation with the College Board, ensure that we uphold rigorous international standards.

As one of the oldest and largest international schools in the Western Cape, I am in awe of what AISCT has accomplished in its history and proud of what we accomplish today in our changing world.

We stand poised to continue our extraordinary progress, firmly positioned for an even brighter future. Thank you for being part of our community.
Sincerely,

Dr. Daniel Jubert
Head of School
